About artist

I was born into a creative family in Crimea, Ukraine, where art was a natural part of life. From a young age, I was surrounded by the beauty of galleries, exhibitions, and a community of artists. This environment shaped my sense of taste and nurtured my love for painting, drawing, and creativity. My artistic path began in early childhood, eventually leading me to art school, where I laid the groundwork for my craft.

In 2014, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic art from the esteemed Crimean Republican Higher Educational Institution "Art College named after N.S. Samokisha." The program was deeply rooted in traditional techniques, offering rigorous training in painting, anatomy, and plein air practice. This foundation continues to influence my work and allows me to blend classical skills with my personal artistic vision.

Since 2021, I have been living and creating in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where I’ve embraced a new chapter in my artistic journey. Moving here has been transformative, granting me the freedom to explore new ideas and techniques beyond traditional art forms. The cultural diversity and rich history of the Netherlands have inspired me deeply, and I’ve become actively involved in the local art scene, collaborating with galleries, hosting workshops, and sharing my art with a wider audience.

I see my work here as both a personal exploration and a way to contribute to the artistic heritage of this vibrant country. Through exhibitions, teaching, and community engagement, I hope to inspire others and create art that resonates deeply with those who encounter it.

Artist Statement

In my art, I explore the profound duality of life, the interplay of light and shadow, and the balance between strength and vulnerability. These themes reflect my belief that true harmony comes from embracing the entirety of our nature—both its luminous and shadowed sides. Through my work, I aim to inspire acceptance and love for all aspects of existence, encouraging viewers to find peace within themselves and the world around them.

The fleeting beauty of life and nature is a recurring motif in my practice. Whether capturing the warm glow of a sunrise or the vibrant colors of blooming flowers, I strive to freeze those transient moments of natural perfection. These works serve as a reminder to cherish the present and to find joy in the ephemeral.

My complex compositions delve deeper, embedding symbols and states of being into layered narratives. Using contrasts of warm and cool tones, hidden symbols, and thoughtful details, I invite viewers on a journey to uncover the meanings within. For me, each piece is a story—a reflection on acceptance, interconnectedness, and the enduring beauty of imperfection.

Ultimately, my art is about support: for each other, for the natural world, and for ourselves. I hope my works serve as a source of light and strength, offering a sense of connection and positivity that lingers long after the viewer has left.
