celebrating the simplicity and grandeur of nature through art

Nature Inspired

is a creative direction in my work that celebrates my deep love for nature and its endless beauty. This section brings together various works, different collections, and materials, all united by one common thread: nature.

Whether it’s the vibrant landscapes I paint en plein air, the colorful flowers that brighten my world, or the simple elegance of a sketch, each piece reflects my appreciation for the beauty around me.

Plein Air Landscapes

As a child, I was fortunate to have a father who was a landscape artist. He took me with him on plein air excursions, and from an early age, I developed a love for painting nature directly from life. For me, plein air painting is not just a technique; it’s a deeply personal connection to the world around me. I find that working outdoors allows me to capture the real essence of a place—its light, colors, and atmosphere.

During the warmer months, I travel to various locations in search of the perfect scene to capture. Whether it's a quiet Dutch countryside, a lively cityscape, or a peaceful field, I always begin my process outdoors, starting with sketches or taking photographs to capture the moment. While I love working in the field, I often complete my pieces back in the studio, where I can refine the details and bring the painting to life with the fullness it deserves.

Painting outdoors fills me with a sense of freedom and joy. The changing light, the sounds of nature, and the beauty of a landscape all inspire me. It’s where I feel most connected to the world and most at peace.

Floral Expressions

Flowers have always been a source of joy for me. As a sensitive woman and artist, I am constantly inspired by the vibrant colors and intricate details of the blossoms that surround us. Whether it’s a small bouquet or a large composition, painting flowers is like celebrating life. Each flower I paint is a personal gift, a reminder of the beauty and fleeting nature of the world.

I create flowers in many forms: from detailed still life studies to bold, expressive compositions in acrylic, and even soft watercolor pieces that capture their delicate nature. In my "Vibrance Blooms" collection, I embrace the brightest and most energetic flowers, using mixed techniques to enhance their vivid beauty.

The act of painting flowers brings me immense happiness. From observing them to sketching and finally painting them, I feel an overwhelming sense of joy. When I see the completed work, it feels like capturing a little celebration, a reminder of life’s beauty. I paint flowers because they represent something so pure and uplifting, and I want to share that sense of joy with others. For me, flowers are more than just a subject—they are a way of celebrating the present moment, the beauty of nature, and the positivity that art brings into our lives.

Graphic Works

In addition to my painted works, I also enjoy creating graphic works as a form of relaxation and inspiration. These pieces tend to be more minimalist and monochrome, using materials like graphite, charcoal, and ink. I often create these works during my travels, as they are easier to do when I’m on the move, especially when I can't bring all my painting supplies with me. Sketching on location allows me to capture the essence of a place in a simple, unembellished form.

These graphic pieces are a way for me to focus on the fundamentals—light, shadow, and form—without the complexity of color. While they are simpler in execution, they are equally beautiful, offering a calming, peaceful contrast to the vibrant works I create with oils and acrylics. I consider these pieces an essential part of my creative process, providing balance and offering me a chance to relax while still engaging with the world around me.
